Barbera d'Asti D.O.C.G. Superiore

The diamond point of barbera variety cultivated on Monferrato hills

This wine is produced from the best butches of Barbera d'Asti coming from Asti hills and blended together in our cellar for a special 14-month refining, whereof 6 spent in oak barrels.
Thanks to this refining, the wine can be called "Superiore" and develops a special feature: great structure and complexity, without losing smoothness and balance.

Technical sheet

Denomination: Barbera d'Asti D.O.C.G. Superiore
Grape variety: 100% Barbera
Winemaker’s note

Rubin red color, quite intense, with garnet reflections after ageing. Intense bouquet, winey when young, persistent: scents of cherry, plum, dark berries, that evolve in confiture or fruit in alcohol, offering balsamic and spicy notes, sometimes floral. After wooden ageing, the wine develops scents of cinnamon, cocoa and liquorice. Full, warm and harmonic in the mouth. The ageing donates
complexity, richness of sweet and soft tannins and long persistence.

Food pairing

Meat dishes, game, braised veal, mature cheese, blue cheese.

Cellar life: 8 years
