An indigenous vine still to be discovered

Grignolino is one of the oldest variety in Piemont. Its name should come from the high number of berries per cluster, in piedmontese dialect called "grignole".

The Grignolino variety is part of the ancient Piedmontese grape varieties, and is mostly cultivated on the hills between Asti and Casale Monferrato.
